A Jamaat-e-Islami leader was arrested Wednesday morning in Jhenaidah allegedly for his involvement in killing a police member.
The police arrested Sahidul Islam, Baitul Maal secretary of the Jamaat local upazila unit, from his house at village Kadikhali Ramchandrapur under Harinakundu upazila.
Mahibul Islam, officer-in-charge of Harinakundu police station, said Sahidul was accused of brutally killing Gazi Omar Farrooque on March 3 of this year at a local upazila parishad complex in Jamaat-Shibir violence.
