Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Wedneday categorically said if the verdicts against the war crimes convicts are upheld by the higher court within June, they would be executed by July-August.
“No conspiracy of Khaleda Zia will be fruitful against the trial of war criminals. The verdicts will be executed after completing legal procedures,” Inu stated while addressing a discussion at Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) office in the city.
The minister also said it’s the high time to ban Jamaat-Shibir politics. He hoped the government would be strict to award capital punishments to war criminals, says banglanews24.com.
Criticising BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, he said: “Khaleda has taken stand to protect the war criminals shamelessly and is trying to oust the incumbent government.”
Among others, JSD General Secretary Sharif Nurul Ambia and Joint Secretary Nazmul Haque, spoke at the programme.
