A Dhaka court on Sunday granted bail to bloggers Subrata Adhikari Shuvo and Rasel Parvez in a case filed against them for “hurting religious sentiments.”
Dhaka Metropolitan Special Judge Md Zahurul Haq awarded the bail after hearing.
Lawyer Jyotirmoy Barua filed the bail petition for Shuvo and Rasel.
The court also took into cognizance the case against Moshiur Rahman Biplob, Subrata Adhikari Shuvo and Rasel Parvez.
On April 2, the detective branch of police arrested bloggers Biplob, Russel and Shubho for “hurting religious sentiments” with their “derogatory” posts and comments on blogs and social networking sites.
They were interrogated for seven days.
Another blogger Asif Mohiuddin, arrested a day later, was interrogated for four days.
Police was supposed to produce Asif and Biplob before the court on Sunday but could not due to the hartal.
