The High Court ordered authorities concerned to confiscate all the movable and immovable properties of the owners of Rana Plaza and proprietors of five readymade garment factories.
An HC bench comprising of Justice Mirza Hossain Hyder and Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar passed the order on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, owners of Rana Plaza and five RMG factories were produced before the High Court in the morning as per its order, reported Banglanews.
The owners are Sohel Rana, owner of the collapsed building Rana Plaza, Baslus Samad Adnan, owner of New Web Bottoms, Mahmudur Rahman Tapos, owner of New Web Style, M Aminul Islam, owner of Phantom Apparels of Rana Plaza and Md Anisur Rahman, owner of Ether Textile Limited.
Earlier on April 25, HC ordered officer-in-charge of Savar thana to produce the owners of Rana Plaza and five RMG factories before the court on April 30.
Earlier on the day, a writ was filed with HC seeking its order to arrest owners of the Rana Plaza building and five garment factories within 24 hours of the Savar building collapse that claimed 178 lives.
At least 400 garments workers have been found dead and more than 1,000 others injured as an eight-storey building, Rana Plaza, collapsed in Savar bus stand area of Dhaka on Wednesday morning.
