A Chittagong court has given a 15-day remand for each of the four arrested members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), who were nabbed on Monday night from the city, in three separate cases.
Metropolitan Magistrate Abdul Quader passed the order on Wednesday noon when the four arrestees were produced before the court with 10-day remand plea for each of the arrestees in each case, said Chittagong Metropolitan Police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (Prosecution) Kazi Muttaki Ibn Minan.
Earlier in the day, CMP DB’s Sub-Inspector Altaf Hossain lodged the three cases with Karnaphuli police station under Arms Act, Explosives Act and Anti-Terrorism Act.
In Arms case, arrested JMB Chittagong’s Second-in-Command Bulbul Ahmed Sarker alias Apel alias Fuad alias Mehedi alias Rocky, Chittagong Operational leader Md Sujon alias Babu, Rocky’s uncle-in-law Shah Jahan alias Kajol and Mahbubur Rahman alias Khokon, 30, were sued while JMB Chittagong’s Commander Fardin and another Gias were sued in explosives case and anti-terrorism case with the four arrestees.
Meanwhile, Sujon alias Babu gave his confessional statement before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Jhalak Roy under 164 of Criminal Procedure Code in the case of double murder in a shrine at Bayezid area on this September 4, ADC Minan said.
