The medical examination of the Garo woman, who was gang-raped in a running microbus in the capital on Thursday night, confirms that she was raped by several persons.
The victim underwent forensic testing at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 10:45am Saturday.
Prof Dr Mamtaj Ara conducted the examination and found evidence of gang rape, DMCH forensic department chief Prof Habibuzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune.
“However, the final report will be released once the age of the girl be confirmed through other tests. It will take some seven days."
On Friday, Sazzad Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Bhatara police station told the Dhaka Tribune that the police would take step once they get the medical report.
Five unknown criminals forcefully took the 21-year-old woman inside a grey-coloured microbus around 9:25pm while she was standing on the Biswa Road bus stand for a bus.
The criminals, including the driver of the microbus, violated her on the running vehicle and threw her out of it in Uttara area around 11pm.
Later, the victim filed a case with Bhatara police station over the incident on Friday morning.
