A Mymensingh court has sentenced four men to death for killing a chicken trader.
Additional district and sessions judge Zahirul Kabir delivered the verdict Monday afternoon against convicts Emdadul Haque, Zia-ul-Haq, Anisur Rahman and Mir Jahan in the Abdur Razzak Fakir murder case.
According to Court Inspector Shaheed Shukrana, on the night of October 15, 2008, the convicts intercepted chicken trader Abdur Razzak Fakir of Tarakanda, Madhupur on his way home from the market.
At one stage, they stabbed him to death and snatched Tk15,000 from him.
Later, his elder brother Hazrat Ali Fakir filed a murder case against the accused.
