Update : 18 Jan 2014, 07:15 PM

Children in a health related awareness building programme in Kurigram and Sherpur districts yesterday played the roles of doctors where patients— played by kids— went to the doctor’s chamber to find out their diseases.

In the play the doctors checked patient’s weights, eyesight, and heights, while they also urged people to take their kids to doctors for the regular check-up of children’s health.

The core aim of the programme was to convey the message that the regular health check-up was a key to keep the children in a good health.

The programmes held on the playgrounds of Sherpur District Sadar Model Government Primary School in Sherpur and Khamar Government Primary School in Mogholbasha union in Kurigram.

Primary Education Board and Health Department Kurigram Sadar took the initiative to choose 18 children among around 400,000 students of 2700 schools of the two districts and trained them up to perform in the play.

Narayan Chandra De, civil sergeant of Sherpur district, and Anwarul Haque, acting civil sergeant of Kurigram district, inaugurated the programme in their respective districts.
