Two more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Thursday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 1,110.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified both of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 1,009, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 101, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The two new suspected fatalities were reported across Sylhet and Chittagong divisions, with one death each recorded in Habiganj district and Chittagong district.
A total of 1,132 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Thursday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 192,863.
During the same period, 82 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 21,602.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 170,877 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 163,973 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
