Dengue infection continues to spread across Khulna division, with 316 new patients hospitalized in the last 24 hours (Monday 8am to Tuesday 8am), according to the latest report from the health department.
Of the newly admitted patients, 258 were admitted to government hospitals and 58 to private hospitals.
No new dengue-related death was reported during the period, keeping the death toll at 36.
Since January 1 this year, the division has reported 11,349 dengue cases.
Of them, 9,936 patients have recovered and returned home, while 1,093 are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
A total of 284 patients have been referred to other facilities for better treatment.
Khulna district continues to report the highest number of infections in the division.
So far, 4,245 dengue patients have been reported in the district, while 2,396 patients have been identified at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
