Six more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Tuesday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 1,036.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all six of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 936, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 100, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Among the six new suspected fatalities, the highest concentration was recorded in Dhaka, with four deaths reported in both the Dhaka division and Dhaka district.
A total of 1,239 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Tuesday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 173,959.
During the same period, 77 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 20,201.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 153,279 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 147,386 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
