Continental Hospital in Gulshan marked its 20th anniversary on Monday with an event reaffirming its commitment to patient care.
Chairman Ahmed Ismail Hossain and Managing Director and CEO Malik Talha Ismail Bari inaugurated the event, along with board members, doctors, nurses, directors, and other senior officials.
Hossain said Continental Hospital PLC, one of Bangladesh's leading tertiary-care hospitals and a Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited institution, is marking two decades of dedicated healthcare service, clinical excellence, innovation and commitment.
He said the hospital has become a trusted destination for advanced and specialized healthcare by combining modern medical facilities, technology, experienced doctors, skilled healthcare professionals and patient-centered service under one roof over the past 20 years.
Bari said: "Over the past 20 years, we have worked as the most reliable institution in the private health sector."
He said the hospital has treated more than 850,000 registered patients, 285,000 emergency patients and conducted more than 90,000 preventive health checkups.
Other milestones cited include more than 17,000 PET-CT scans, 36,000 successful surgeries, 45,000 gastroenterology procedures, 23,500 cardiac surgeries, 75,000 cardiac procedures, 450,000 cardiac consultations and 820,000 cardiac tests.
The hospital also provided radiation therapy to more than 230,000 cancer patients and dialysis services to more than 363,500 kidney patients, according to Bari.

As part of the anniversary event, a free preventive health checkup was held in the hospital lobby throughout the day for patients and visitors. The hospital also planted 20 trees of different species on its premises.
In the afternoon, the hospital organized Quran recitation, prayers and a milad for the well-being and long life of its patients.
