Dengue: Two more die as 671 cases recorded in 24 hours

Bangladesh has recorded 76 dengue deaths and 26,272 cases since the outbreak began this year

Health officials on Wednesday said they recorded 671 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 671) 70 patients were hospitalized in Barisal division, 83 in Chittagong division, 119 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 130 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 133 in Khulna division, 35 in Mymensingh division, 92 in Rajshahi division and six in Rangpur division and three in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 76 deaths while the disease inflicted 26,272.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
