Health officials report 753 fresh cases of dengue inflection, 3 deaths overnight
Health officials on Tuesday said they recorded 753 fresh cases of dengue, with at least three people dying from the disease in the past 24 hours.
“During the period, 98 patients were hospitalized in Barisal division, 94 in Chittagong division, 51 in Dhaka division, 106 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas and 135 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 135 in Khulna division, 61 in Mymensingh division, 46 in Rajshahi division, 24 in Rangpur division and three in Sylhet division,” a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the beginning of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has recorded 74 deaths and 25,601 cases.
Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people in the country. In 2024, the disease claimed 575 lives and infected 101,214 people.
