Three more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Friday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 863.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all three of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 767, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 96, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Of the three new suspected fatalities, two were reported in the Sylhet division and one in the Mymensingh division.
A total of 1,017 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Friday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 134,655.
During the same period, 201 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 16,941.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 116,822 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 112,525 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
