Health officials on Thursday reported 471 new dengue cases in the 24 hours preceding Thursday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new patients, 53 were admitted to hospitals in Barisal division, 64 in Chittagong division, 86 in Dhaka division, 80 in areas under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 74 in areas under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 50 in Khulna division, 23 in Mymensingh division, 26 in Rajshahi division, 12 in Rangpur division and 3 in Sylhet division, the DGHS said in a statement.
With the latest figures, Bangladesh has recorded 17,880 dengue cases and 59 deaths so far this year.
Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people across the country.
In 2024, the mosquito-borne disease caused 575 deaths and infected 101,214 people.
