Dengue cases rise by 371 in 24 hours

Chittagong division recorded the highest dengue admissions, with 91 patients hospitalized in the past 24 hours

Health authorities on Saturday reported 371 new dengue cases across Bangladesh in the 24 hours preceding Saturday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to a DGHS statement, 91 patients were admitted to hospitals in Chittagong division, 69 in Barisal division, 57 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 46 in Dhaka division, 34 in Khulna division, 32 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 23 in Mymensingh division, 17 in Rajshahi division, and 2 in Sylhet division.

With the latest figures, the country has recorded 15,681 dengue cases and 54 deaths so far this year.

Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people across the country.

In 2024, dengue caused 575 deaths and infected 101,214 people.
