Two more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Thursday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 805.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified both of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 710, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 95, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Of the two new suspected fatalities, one was reported in the Sylhet division and the other in the Rangpur division. At the district level, the deaths occurred in Sunamganj and Gaibandha, with one casualty reported in each.
A total of 848 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Thursday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 121,200.
During the same period, 166 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 15,007.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 103,863 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 100,188 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
