Five more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Sunday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 758.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified four of the latest casualties as suspected, while one has been clinically confirmed.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 664, while the number of confirmed deaths rose to 94.
Dhaka recorded the highest concentration of fatalities in the last 24 hours, with two suspected deaths and one confirmed death reported in both the Dhaka division and Dhaka district.
A total of 879 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Sunday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 111,480.
During the same period, 90 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 13,500.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 94,340 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 90,605 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
