Four more children died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Sunday, while 1,127 new confirmed and suspected cases of the disease were recorded during the same period.
The latest fatalities have pushed the cumulative death toll from measles and related symptoms to 652 since 15 March.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) regular measles situation report released on Sunday, one death each was reported from the Dhaka, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions.
The DGHS said 75 new measles infections were confirmed over the past 24 hours, while symptoms of the disease were identified in another 1,052 individuals.
Since March 15, a total of 85,951 people across the country have reported measles symptoms, while 10,323 cases have been confirmed through testing.
The report also noted that 70,579 patients suffering from measles or related symptoms have been admitted to hospitals nationwide since March 15. Of them, 66,841 have recovered and been discharged.
