Measles outbreak: Two deaths, 1,151 suspected cases in 24 hours

Since March 15, 49 people have died from confirmed measles infections

Two more children died of measles 24 hours till 8am Thursday, according to the latest bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 1,151 suspected measles cases were reported across the country, while 84 cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.

Since March 15, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 37,131, of which 5,028 have been confirmed by laboratory tests, according to DGHS data.

The control room said 25,158 patients have been admitted to hospitals, while 21,756 have recovered and returned home.

Since March 15, 49 people have died from confirmed measles infections, while deaths among suspected cases stand at 227, the data showed.
