Nine more people have died across the country in the past 24 hours from measles and measles-like symptoms.
Among them, three died from confirmed measles, while six died with measles-like symptoms, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room on Tuesday.
With the latest fatalities, the number of confirmed measles deaths has risen to 47 between March 15 and Tuesday. During the same period, deaths with measles-like symptoms have reached 226.
In the last 24 hours, 1,276 new cases with measles-like symptoms were reported, bringing the total to 34,662 since March 15.
Meanwhile, 163 confirmed measles cases were recorded in the past 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases has reached 4,856 over the same period.
According to the DGHS data, a total of 23,348 patients with measles-like symptoms have been admitted to hospitals since March 15, while 19,991 patients have recovered and been discharged.
