Three children have died in the 24 hours to 8:00am Monday from measles and suspected measles infections, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the deaths, one was from confirmed measles and two were from suspected infections.
During the same period, 1,170 new suspected measles cases were reported, while 174 cases were confirmed, the DGHS release said.
Since March 15, a total of 24,776 suspected measles cases and 3,617 confirmed cases have been recorded, it added.
Over the same period, 16,172 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals, while 13,258 patients recovered and were discharged.
The DGHS said 37 people have died from confirmed measles since March 15.
In addition, two deaths from suspected measles were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected measles deaths since March 15 to 183.
Division-wise data showed Dhaka recorded the highest number of suspected cases at 10,915, of which 2,341 were confirmed measles infections.
