DGHS: 10 more suspected measles patients die in 24 hours

Ten more suspected measles patients died in 24 hours till 8am on Tuesday morning, taking the total death toll to 128, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During this period, 1,236 suspected measles cases were reported during the period, said DGHS.

Besides, 641 patients were admitted to different hospitals.

So far, a total of 6,883 suspected patients have been hospitalized.

Among them, 4,635 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospitals.

In the latest 24-hour period, the Dhaka division recorded the highest number of suspected measles deaths with eight.

Besides, Dhaka district also accounted for the highest district-level death toll during the period, with six deaths.

The DGHS said the total number of confirmed measles deaths between March 15 and Tuesday stood at 21.
