One dengue patient died, and 45 others were admitted to various hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours till Saturday morning.
"During this period, four patients were hospitalized in Chittagong, one in Barisal division, nine in Dhaka division, nine in Dhaka North City, 15 in Dhaka South City, one in Mymensingh, one in Khulna, and five in Rajshahi," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of dengue cases has risen to 573 this year, with four deaths reported so far.
In comparison, last year saw a total of 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths, the statement added.
