Primary and Mass Education Adviser Prof Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar emphasized the critical importance of mental healthcare in the workplace.
He made this statement as the chief guest at a scientific seminar in celebration of World Mental Health Day 2024 held on Wednesday at Shaheed Dr Milon Hall in BSMMU, Shahbagh.
Dr Bidhan said: “Mental healthcare is a significant issue in our country, but the availability of treatment is insufficient. If primary care is properly provided, people will benefit greatly.”
He said: “Mental healthcare in the workplace is extremely important, and the public should be made aware of this issue.
“Holding discussions and symposia with people from all sectors of society can give more weight to the importance of mental health services,” the adviser added.
