In the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning, five more deaths from dengue were reported, bringing the total fatalities in Bangladesh for this year to 193.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) noted that 981 additional patients were hospitalized with viral fever during this time.
Among these, 196 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka North City Corporation, and 180 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Currently, 3,384 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals across the country.
Since January 1, 2024, a total of 38,789 dengue cases have been recorded.
Last year, dengue resulted in 1,705 deaths, marking it as the deadliest year on record.
The DGHS reported 321,179 dengue cases and 318,749 recoveries for the previous year.
