Five patients have died in the last 24 hours to Sunday morning in the Covid-19 unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Two of them were corona positive and three were being treated in the unit with symptoms, said its spokesperson Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon.
Meanwhile, the hospital logged 159 more Covid-19 cases in a single day.
Dr Mohiuddin added that 20 new patients have been admitted to the unit thereby taking the number of patients undergoing treatment to 63. Of them, 37 are Covid-19 positive patients.
On the other hand, 31 people have recovered and returned home in the last 24 hours.
