The health authorities have reported 2,231 new coronavirus infections in the 24 hours to Monday morning, up from 1,491 cases the previous day.
As many as 26,143 samples were tested across the labs in the country for a test positivity rate of 8.53%, according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services.
