Sylhet division recorded 997 Covid positive cases in the last 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday mornings. Nine people died during the same period.
The Sylhet Health Services Division said in a bulletin on Sunday that some 2,566 samples from around the division were tested and 36.62% of them resulted positive -- taking the total number of cases to 40,452.
Three of the nine deaths were at Sylhet MAG Osmani Hospital, four in Sylhet, and two in Sunamganj, taking the division’s death toll to 702 as of Sunday, health officials reported.

In the last 24 hours, 50 people were also hospitalized around the division. Currently, 405 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals.
With the 305 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, a total of 30,843 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the division.
