Palak: Government to bring 80% people under vaccination for Covid-19

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to maintain the life and livelihood of the people of the country

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said that the government is thinking of bringing 80% of the people in the country under the coronavirus vaccine campaign.

"The people of the country are now at a risky position due to the pandemic. To overcome this situation, the government is thinking of bringing 80% of the people in the country under the coronavirus vaccine coverage as vaccine is becoming more available," he said in a zoom meeting.

He urged all to follow hygiene rules including wearing masks for the public safety.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to maintain the life and livelihood of the people of the country.

Under her direction, all the people of the country are getting free vaccines and besides, cash and food assistance are being provided to the poor and unemployed people, he added.

He urged all to work together so that the government could deal with the Covid-19 situation.

The state minister further said that the government has taken up the program "Mask Amar, Surokkha Sobar" to prevent coronavirus infection.

He added that, antigen testing for Covid-19, wearing of masks and proper sanitizing system will be ensured in all cattle markets before Eid.

If 2 million people of Natore wear masks, it will be possible to protect the district, he said.

And during the time, some 800 people from different walks of life including government officials, doctors, public representatives, journalists, health-workers and  leaseholders of haats participated in the zoom meeting.

Deputy Commissioner of Natore Shameem Ahmed presided over the virtual  meeting.

Lawmakers Shafiqul Islam Shimul and Ratna Ahmed (women reserved seat), Superintendent of Police Liton Kumar Saha, Mayor of Natore Municipality Uma Chowdhury Jolly and Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Shariful Islam Ramzan also joined the meeting, among others.
