A total of 9,869 members of Bangladesh police have been infected with coronavirus across the country until Friday morning.
“Among the cases, 5,794 policemen have made full recovery,” said sources at Police Headquarters, reports UNB.
Most of the recovered policemen have joined their respective duty stations, the sources added.
Among the total infected, 2,193 policemen are attached to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) alone, said the sources.
The sources also informed that 9,004 policemen have been sent to quarantine while 4,188 cops have been undergoing treatment in isolation.
The sources also informed that 37 cops have so far died of Covid-19.
Bangladesh has so far reported 1,30,474 coronavirus cases and 1,661 deaths.
Health authorities on Friday reported 3,868 new cases and 40 deaths in the 24 hours before Friday morning.
