A police constable who was stationed in Narayanganj has died from Covid-19 in Dhaka. A total 28 polce personnel have lost their lives to the deadly disease in the country, so far.
Md Rafiqul Islam, 56, breathed his last at Dhaka's Impulse Hospital on Monday evening. He is survived by a wife, two sons and one daughter.
Police constable Rafiqul was from Ahmedpur village under Char Fashion upazila of Bhola district. He was stationed at the Bandor (port) police outpost in Narayanganj.
Rafiqul joined Bangladesh Police in 1986. His body has been sent back to his home village for burial, a Police Headquarters press statement said.
