One more police personnel has died from Covid-19 infection in Bogra.
Faysal Alam, 38, breathed his last at the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College hospital on Friday night.
Faysal was the son of Yer Ahmed from Raninagar village under Godagari upazila of Rajshahi district.
He was stationed at the Naruli police outpost in Bogra city. Faysal joined Bangladesh Police in August 2011.
He was buried at his village, a Police Headquarters press statement said. The frontline fighter is survived by his wife and two sons.
Till Friday, 8,496 policemen have been infected with coronavirus across the country. Among them 4,811 policemen made full recovery.
Among the total infected, 2,050 policemen are attached to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
A total of 27 police personnel and one civilian member of the law enforcement agency died of Covid-19.
As of Saturday, a total of 1,388 people died from Covid-19 in the country with 105,535 confirmed cases while 42,945 made full recoveries.
