A physician died of Covid-19 at the isolation unit of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) on Friday.
Dr Emdad Ullah, 56, senior consultant of the Department of Dermatology and Sex at Barisal General Hospital, breathed his last around 5:30 pm.
Confirming, Dr Bakir Hossain, director of the hospital, said he was admitted to the "Corona" unit of the hospital on Thursday afternoon as he showed symptoms of the viral disease.
Meanwhile, three others died in the last 24 hours at the hospital's isolation unit with Covid-19 symptoms.
The deceased are Enamul Haque, 8, Shamima, 36, and Barek Rari, 55.
Dr Bakir said their samples were sent for tests.
