Lawyer and minority group leader Rana Dasgupta and his wife Rita Dasgupta have been tested positive for Covid-19.
Rana is a prosecutor in the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) and serves as the general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad.
He is now being treated at the Medical Center Hospital in Chittagong, said ICT Prosecutor Taposh Kanti Baul.
“The test results came back late on Wednesday. He has fever and cough as well as suffers from asthma. Prior to the general holidays in March, he was hospitalized for a few days with respiratory issues,” he said.
Taposh said they plan to move Rana to Dhaka as soon as an air-ambulance is arranged.
