Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Constable Md Alamgir Hossain has died of Covid-19.
He was being treated at Central Police Hospital at Rajarbagh where he breathed his last on early Monday.
Assistant Inspector General (Media) of police headquarters Md Sohel Rana confirmed the matter.
The 55-year-old cop was working at Hazaribagh outpost under DMP’s Ramna zone.
Constable Alamgir was from Mazaria village of Faridpur district. The dead body has been sent to his village and buried at his family graveyard.
He has left behind his wife and two sons.
Till now 19 police members have died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh.
