More than 6,000 policemen have tested positive for Covid-19 so far.
In the last 24 hours, with another 207 cops testing positive for the virus, the total number of infected policemen now stands at 6,206.
Of them, 19 belong to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), taking the total number of infected policemen in the DMP to 1,828.
However, a total 2,767 policemen have recovered so far, according to the police headquarters on Sunday.
Besides, another 6,451 policemen have been kept in quarantine and 2,007 others in isolation.
As front line workers in the ongoing pandemic, the infection rate specially high among the police.
However, the spread of the coronavirus in DMP has reduced in comparison to the earlier stages of the coronavirus outbreak in Bangladesh.
To date, 16 policemen and another civilian working with police have died of Covid-19.
