A teacher of Dhaka University (DU) has died from Covid-19 on Sunday evening.
The deceased Dr Shakil Uddin Ahmed, professor of soil, water and environment at DU, passed away at Dhaka’s Green Life hospital after undergoing plasma therapy.
DU Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani said: “As far as I have heard from colleagues and his family members, he had complications in his heart. After testing positive for Covid-19, he was admitted to Green Life hospital in the Green Road area.
“DU was going through a good situation, but the news of Prof Shakil’s death has put us in mourning,” he added.
Professor Shakil joined DU in 2002.
