Rangpur centre of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) has distributed food aid among 500 jobless and needy families in a bid to help out the underprivileged in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The distribution took place in an informal function, held on its office premises on Saturday, reports BSS.
Chairman of Rangpur unit of IEB and Additional Chief Engineer of Rangpur Zone of Water Development Board (WDB) Engineer Jyoti Prosad Ghosh, along with other members of the organization, distributed the aid.
Each family received a sac containing rice, pulse, iodized salt, edible oil, and soap.
Coronavirus has so far infected 4,998 people and killed 140 people in Bangladesh.
Globally, the virus has infected 2,921,439 people and killed 203,289 people.
