The transfer of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud was made on August 12, two weeks before reports emerged linking the move to recent developments in Rangpur, Police Headquarters said on Tuesday.
Mabud was transferred following the usual rules and administrative procedures applicable to government service, according to a press release issued by the Police Headquarters.
“There is no scope for confusion in this regard,” the statement said.
Police Headquarters urged all concerned to refrain from disseminating misleading information.
