Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has sought the cooperation of newspaper editors in formulating policies for independent media and journalists.
He made the call during a meeting with leaders of the National Editors Council at the Prime Minister's Office in the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat on Monday afternoon.
During the meeting, the prime minister urged editors to highlight the government's positive initiatives alongside constructive criticism so that the public can remain informed about its activities.
The eight-member delegation was led by National Editors Council Convener and Jai Jai Din Editor Shafik Rehman, and Joint Convener and Amar Desh Editor Mahmudur Rahman.
Other members of the delegation included Dainik Pratidin Bangladesh Editor Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, Dainik Naya Diganta Editor Salah Uddin Muhammad Babar, Jugantor Editor Abdul Hai Shikder, National Press Club President Hasan Hafiz, WADA Editor Shafiqul Alam, and Manabkantha Editor Shahidul Islam.
