The Cabinet Division has prohibited the use of the prime minister's image in 3D or any other stylised format on banners, festoons and billboards prepared for government events.
The directive was issued through a circular on Sunday and takes immediate effect.
According to the circular, publicity materials for official events must give priority to the event's subject matter and include only relevant, balanced and necessary information. Their design should clearly convey the purpose, message and theme of the event, ensuring that the content remains the central focus.
Describing the matter as "highly important", the Cabinet Division instructed all authorities concerned to comply with the directive without delay.
Molla Ahmad Qutbuddin, deputy chief information officer at the Cabinet Division, said the circular has been forwarded to the principal secretary to the Prime Minister, senior secretaries and all secretaries, with instructions to ensure its implementation across all ministries, departments and agencies under their respective jurisdictions.
Copies of the circular have also been sent to the Chief Information Officer, all divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and upazila nirbahi officers (UNOs) for necessary action.
