Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday appreciated young innovator Sajjadul Islam of Moulvibazar after learning about a range of eco-friendly products developed by him.
During a meeting at the Secretariat, he also encouraged the innovator to continue his efforts to promote sustainable innovation using local raw materials, according to a release issued by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.
Sajjadul, a student, briefed the prime minister on his inventions, including biodegradable polythene made from rotten and discarded vegetables and corrugated sheets, tiles, and boards produced from banana fiber.
Tarique Rahman highly praised the environment-friendly innovations and their potential contribution to sustainable development.
He assured Sajjadul of government support for his innovative work and encouraged him to continue his research and development activities.
The Prime Minister said such initiatives by young innovators could play an important role in addressing environmental challenges while creating opportunities for local industries through the use of indigenous resources.
