The government has reshuffled several key positions in the police administration, including appointing a new director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, Additional Inspector General of Police Ahsan Habib Palash has been appointed as the new director general of RAB.
He previously served as deputy inspector general (DIG) of the Chittagong Range Police.
In the same order, Additional IGP Sardar Nurul Amin has been transferred as chief of the Special Branch (SB), while Additional IGP Mosleh Uddin has been appointed chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Additional IGP Chibgat Ullah has been posted to the Bangladesh Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, Hasib Aziz, commissioner of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police, has been appointed chief of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN).
Shawkat Ali, additional commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, has been made commissioner of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police.
Additionally, SB DIG Moniruzzaman has been posted as the new DIG of Chittagong Range.
