Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, said that the disruption of civic services in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has reached a point where remaining silent is no longer an option.

He made these comments on Thursday while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a public library under construction through the Upazila Parishad, held at the old conference room of the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat.

Referring to ongoing issues concerning DSCC, Asif Mahmud expressed concern over the situation, noting that public services are being hampered and urging swift action to address the matter.

Commenting on the prolonged inactivity in DSCC due to the stalemate surrounding the oath-taking of Ishraque Hossain, the adviser said discussions are underway at the highest levels of government and appropriate measures will be taken on this issue.

Regarding the dengue outbreak, Asif Mahmud said that the authorities remain vigilant and will soon hold detailed discussions on the matter.

Despite ongoing challenges in the Dhaka South city, he affirmed that efforts are continuing externally to the best extent possible.
