The Chief Prosecutor’s Office has sent a letter to the inspector general of Police (IGP) requesting the issuance of red notices through Interpol against ten individuals, including former ministers Obaidul Quader, and Hasan Mahmud.
They have been named as fugitives in a case filed over the mass killings that occurred during July–August.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam disclosed this information to journalists on Thursday.
The other accused include former minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former minister AKM Mozammel Haque, former mayor barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, former minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Ali Arafat, Nasrul Hamid Bipu and Tarique Ahmed Siddique, the former defence adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
The chief prosecutor said that a letter was sent on Thursday to the IGP requesting red notices be issued against the ten individuals via Interpol.
