Operation Devil Hunt is being carried out while ensuring the protection of human rights and the environment, said senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr Nasimul Gani.
He made this statement in response to journalists' questions following a meeting with law enforcement officials at the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday afternoon.
He added: "Unlike the defeated fascist forces, we could not be inhumane or ruthless, as the movements and uprisings in July and August were fought for human rights."
Nasimul Gani said: "In countries where revolutions have taken place, the defeated forces were not allowed to remain. We could not be that inhumane. We believe that some people acted out of fear, while others—who were die-hard supporters—have fled. Action is being taken against them."
