The government has decided to send into forced retirement four superintendents of various prisons across Bangladesh.
The Security Service Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate notifications regarding the decision on Thursday.
The superintendents are Subhash Kumar Ghosh of Shariatpur District Prison, Bazlur Rashid Akhand of Manikganj District Prison, Mokleshur Rahman of Tangail District Prison and Nesar Alam of Habiganj District Prison.
Among them, Subhash had 9 years, Bazlur 2 years, Mokleshur 4 months and Nesar nearly 3 years left in service.
According to the government order, they were retired in the public interest under Section 45 of the Public Service Act.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Md Motaher Hossain said authorities were trying to establish a prison system free from external influence, adding that corrupt officers and staff were facing action according to prison regulations.
