Dr Hasan Mahmud has been named the new Foreign Minister. He will be replacing Dr Ak Abdul Momen.
In the previous term, Dr Hasan Mahmud was given the charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,
Before that, he was the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change from 2009-2014. Before that, he was the state minister for Foreign Affairs.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette on Thursday allocating the responsibilities of the ministries among the new cabinet members.
Earlier, cabinet members of the new government, formed by the Awami League, took the oath of office at the Bangabhaban.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her new council of ministers.
Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain on Thursday unveiled the names of the council of ministers. Other than the prime minister, there will be 25 ministers and 11 state ministers.
